The Institute of Technology, Tralee, is offering a one-year taught Master of Science in Healthcare Informatics that will equip graduates with advanced theoretical knowledge, practice and research skills in Health Informatics. The course covers various Health Informatics standards, such as Electronic Healthcare Records and coding systems, Strategic IT Management, Mobile Computing and HCI, and a number of healthcare topics including Evidence-Based Practice and Change Management. The course includes a large project element that will give students the opportunity to apply their learning to their own area of expertise. The course is very much geared towards nursing graduates but is open to all healthcare personnel.
The standard applicant to the program will hold a 4-year, level 7 honours Bachelor's Degree at a minimum of 2.2 level in Information Technology or a related cognate field of study and have significant experience in the healthcare sector. Alternatively they must hold an honours Bachelor's Degree at a minimum of 2.2 level in a health related field of study and have demonstrated competencies in the areas of computer systems. |
